How it all began
Cheeni began as an idea shared between friends, a place that felt like home where food, chai, and conversation could bring people together. Rooted in Bed Stuy, the space was built from scratch with care, community, and a lot of late nights. Every detail, from the colors on the walls to the dishes on the menu, carries a piece of where we come from and who we are.
Our food draws from Indian home cooking and street snacks but has been shaped by the rhythm of New York. We serve the kind of meals that linger: breakfast with friends, chai breaks that stretch into the afternoon, and dinners that end with laughter at the bar.
